QUALIFICATIONS • Tennis experience (playing and/or teaching) desired, but not required. • Strong leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills required. • Alert, attentive and responsible. • Communication and human relations abilities.

POSITION PURPOSE The Tennis Instructor position is responsible for teaching tennis skills, competitive techniques, and court safety skills for class participants. Maintain records and progress reports and provide instruction in accordance to provided curriculum and training. Monitor tennis players, observe and correct errors, and ensure the safety of class members. Training for the position will be provided by the Utah Tennis Association WORKING CONDITIONS • Part-Time, non-benefited. • Lessons run from early June through mid-August. • Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-12pm (Fridays if makeup days necessary).

SALARY • $$8.83-$9.66, dependent upon experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES • Lead lessons and instruction exercises according to provided curriculum. • Retrieve and set-up equipment before lessons. Gather and store equipment at the end of lessons. • Prepare required paperwork and complete assigned administrative duties. • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions. • Keep management well informed of activities and any significant problems. • Assist other staff as needed. • Participate in provided staff training and classes to improve teaching skills and tennis techniques. • Substitute for other instructors as required. • Coordinate effectively with Tennis Coordinator in regards to summer schedule (time off needed, etc.).
