Group Fitness Coordinator


  • Management of the Group Fitness program (land-based aerobics classes), including the bi-annual Biggest Loser camp.
  • Responsible to schedule and staff monthly fitness classes, hire new employees and terminated employment, as necessary.
  • Responsible to evaluate monthly schedule, implement new formats/make appropriate changes pending the demographics of Cottonwood Heights and current trends of the industry.
  • Communicate regularly (typically via email) with staff members in regards to facility and or schedule updates.
  • Lead in-person annual/quarterly staff meetings.
  • Evaluate staff members and provide instruction/direction where necessary.
  • Coordinate with Recreation and Fitness Manager in regards to equipment and facility maintenance and/or needs.
  • Assumes responsibility for other duties as assigned.


  • At least two years’ experience as a group fitness instructor.
  • Must teach or be willing to teach at least two regular classes on the Group Fitness schedule.
  • Current ACE or AFAA Certification as of hire date.
  • Current American Red Cross First Aid Certification.
  • Understanding of Aerobic group fitness programs.
  • Knowledge of physiology and anatomy, strong aerobic endurance, strength and flexibility.
  • Thorough knowledge of aerobic techniques and routines, ability to demonstrate as appropriate to both to patrons and staff members.
  • Ability to effectively combine music and choreography.
  • Strong human relations skills.

Special Working Conditions:

            Non-seasonal, part-time, no benefits. Flexible schedule up to 25 hours per week; weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings and holidays.


            $12.18 - $13.19 per hour/dependent upon experience
